Arrests and raids in the West Bank, and settlers attack the town of Tel Rumeida in Hebron news

Settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the Tel Rumeida area in central Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, while the occupation forces arrested at least 15 Palestinians – including children and former prisoners – during raids that affected several areas in the West Bank from yesterday evening, Friday, until Saturday dawn.

Settlers threw stones at Palestinian homes and insulted their owners.

Settlers had stormed the Islamic cemetery on Shuhada Street in the center of Hebron, coinciding with the occupation forces continuing to close the Ibrahimi Mosque and its surrounding areas in the city for the second day in a row, in order to secure the settlers’ incursions.

The day before yesterday, Thursday, Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque with hundreds of settlers, where they performed Talmudic rituals.

Also in Hebron, activists reported that the occupation army seized two vehicles during its storming of the town of Carmel, east of Yatta.

In Nablus, a young Palestinian man was injured by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets during a settler attack this morning on the town of Beit Furik, east of the city.

Local Palestinian sources reported that settlers attacked the outskirts of the town under the protection of the occupation forces and tried to storm its homes, which led to the outbreak of confrontations with the residents. This coincided with the occupation forces firing live bullets and gas bombs, which resulted in the injury of one of the young men.

Arrests and raids

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said in a statement that the Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 15 citizens from the West Bank, including children and freed prisoners, from yesterday evening (Friday) until Saturday morning.

The arrests were distributed among the governorates of Hebron and Bethlehem (south), Nablus, Jenin, Qalqilya, and Tulkarm (north), according to the statement.

The club explained that during the arrest campaigns, the occupation practices abuse against prisoners and their families, severely beating them, in addition to widespread acts of vandalism in homes.

According to the club, the number of arrests since the start of the ongoing Israeli war of genocide on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023 has reached more than 11,800 people from the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

In parallel with the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army expanded its operations, and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in a total of 795 martyrs and about 6,450 wounded, according to official Palestinian data.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza that left about 148,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded – most of them children and women – and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
