Aoun to Iraq: Lebanon is looking for relations with Iran as a country with a country news

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun told Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araqji, that his country is looking forward to strengthening relations with Iran as a country with a state, while Araqji said that Iran wanted to open a new page in relations between the two countries.

Aoun stressed, during his reception of Araqji in the capital, Beirut, that the internal dialogue in Lebanon is the entrance to all contentious issues, as well as dialogue between countries away from violence.

Aoun considered that Ammar returned what the Israeli war demolished on Lebanon is one of the priorities that his country is working on, in cooperation with friendly countries.

For his part, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, during his meeting with Araqji, repeated the state that the state alone will monopolize the use of weapons in Lebanon.

The peace office said that Araqji stressed Iran’s keenness to open a new page in bilateral relations with Lebanon on the basis of mutual respect, not to interfere in internal affairs, and Araqji sent an official invitation to Salam to visit Tehran.

Araqji also met Lebanese parliament, Nabih Berri, and said in a press conference that his country attaches great importance to Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stressed that Iran supports its friends in Lebanon, but it does not interfere in internal affairs.

Araqji also expressed Tehran’s support for Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the efforts made to end the Israeli occupation of parts of its territory in any way, and he said that his country is looking forward to relations based on mutual respect with Lebanon, and not to interfere in internal affairs.

Araqji added that his country’s relations with Lebanon are very good, noting that Iranian companies are ready to participate in the reconstruction of Lebanon if the Lebanese government wants to do so.

Earlier today, Tuesday, Araqji held talks with his Lebanese counterpart Youssef Raji, and discussed the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States on Tehran’s nuclear program.

Araqji is visiting Beirut for a day, which is the first visit since last February, when the funeral of the Secretary -General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated by Israel in air strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut last September.
