The radio also quoted Trump as saying that he is considering lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria, in a goodwill gesture towards President Erdogan, describing the Turkish president as “my friend, and I love him.”
On March 21, the American Fox News channel, quoting two familiar sources, reported that President Trump is open to Turkey selling F-35 fighters again, if the two sides reach an agreement that would make the Russian S-400 system that Turkey owns is not suitable for operation.
She explained that this position of the American president came after his phone conversation with President Erdogan on March 16.
According to Fox News, the United States needs the lifting of sanctions under the Acts of America’s Enemies to Combat America in order to sell the aforementioned fighter to Türkiye. She added that Trump asked his team to conduct a study on “ways to spare Türkiye sanctions of Katsa.”
