The US Secretary of State urges Hamas to accept the proposed ceasefire in exchange for the gradual release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Antony Blinken spoke after meeting in Tel Aviv some of the relatives of hostages held captive since the October 7 massacres.

Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State: “Everyone said yes, except Hamas. And if Hamas doesn’t say yes, it’s clearly their responsibility. It would be his responsibility to choose to continue the war and not end it.”

This is the eighth time that Antony Blinken has visited Israel since the start of the war.

Apart from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the American Secretary of State notably had meetings with Yaïr Lapid, the leader of the Israeli opposition, and Benny Gantz, the resigning minister of the Israeli war cabinet.
