The air raid alert was again sounded tonight throughout Ukraine due to the takeoff of a Russian MiG-31K fighter jet from an airfield in the Novgorod region, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

On the evening of June 11, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the threat of Russian drone attacks in several regions, as well as the threat of missile strikes on the Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions.

On the night of June 12, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Kyiv: cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones flew over the city. The air defense forces reportedly destroyed all these air targets in the capital region.

The Kyiv administration has reported no casualties or damage after a nighttime air attack on the capital.

Guided aerial bomb injures at least six in Kostiantynivka

Six people were injured and 13 residential buildings were damaged after Russian forces dropped a KAB-500 bomb on a residential area of Kostiantynivka in the eastern Donetsk region.

Four people were also hospitalized.

Kostiantynivka is subject to regular strikes by Russian forces.

In Monday’s airstrike, windows were broken, balconies were shattered and a residential building collapsed.

Evacuations are also underway in the village of Kozatcha Lopan in the Kharkiv region (north-east), 2 km from the Russian border.

500 residents remain there, despite the fighting taking place less than 15 km from the village in the direction of Lypetsk, while the Russians are trying to take over the neighboring community.

Over the past month, 1,000 people have left the Kozacha Lopan district.

Zelensky appeals for help for energy network

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday called for immediate help to repair his country’s power grid and long-term investment in its energy system, during a conference aimed at garnering support for Ukraine’s recovery from destruction caused by the war led by Russia.

At the start of a week of intense diplomacy which will also see him travel to the G7 summit, which brings together Ukraine’s main Western allies, in Italy, and at a world peace summit in Switzerland, Mr. Zelensky also renewed his calls for more help to repel missile attacks by Russian forces. Hours later, Mr. Zelensky thanked Germany for its support in a speech to lawmakers in Berlin.

The two-day conference on Ukraine’s recovery, being held in Berlin, follows a similar meeting held in London a year ago.

German organizers say they will bring together 2,000 people from politics, business and other sectors, arguing that the task of supporting Ukraine’s recovery is too big for governments alone.

Among the immediate problems, sustained Russian attacks on Ukraine’s power grid in recent weeks have forced energy companies to implement nationwide blackouts.
