A state of sadness and anger prevailed on social media platforms after news of the massacre committed by the occupation this morning in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 40 people and the injury of 60 others.
This morning, the Israeli occupation army targeted the tents of the displaced in the humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi, southwest of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip.
Civil Defense said that there were families that had completely disappeared as a result of the Israeli bombing with heavy concussion missiles on the tents of the displaced, which created 3 deep holes in the targeted area, reaching a depth of 9 meters, and this massacre was described as one of the most horrific massacres since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
It is noteworthy that the area that the Israeli army bombed with at least 4 missiles is an area that it has classified as a safe humanitarian area, and it has asked the displaced to head to it from several places, and it is an area crowded with displaced people.
The Israeli army claimed that it targeted “a number of terrorists who were operating inside a command and control center inside the humanitarian area in Khan Yunis with a precise intelligence strike.”
But the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) denied the allegations of the occupation army, and said in a statement: “The allegations of the fascist occupation army that there were resistance elements in the targeted area are a blatant lie, to justify these heinous crimes, and this brutal targeting of civilians is confirmation of the Nazi occupation government’s continuation of the war of extermination against our Palestinian people.”
Twitter users denounced the Al-Mawasi massacre against the displaced, in comments some of which were monitored in the episode (9/10/2024) of the “Networks” program.
Zain Al-Abed described the Al-Mawasi massacre as “the most horrific massacre since the beginning of the war of extermination, and entire families disappeared into the sand.”
Ahmed wrote, “Horrific scenes of the crater created by the occupation after bombing the tents of the displaced, imagining this size of bombs being used against the tents of the displaced.”
Hanan Issa commented on the massacre, saying: “Do you remember? They used to ask: Where do we go?! Now an entire camp is under the sand. An entire camp has been wiped out.”
Rania, in turn, denounced the Al-Mawasi massacre, and wrote, “A cemetery or a burial place, the terrorist entity has completed all stages of killing and excelled in it. They have tried all types of international weapons.”
