The Israeli security cabinet is preparing for a 24 -hour decisive period in negotiations with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), while reports of international pressure on both sides of the negotiation to reach an agreement, Hamas said that the partial deals stage ended.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted Israeli officials that the negotiating parties are facing increasing international pressure to reach an agreement, noting that the government gives negotiations a real opportunity and is expected to take the final decision on Sunday evening.
Israeli officials told the newspaper that they are open to minor changes to the framework of the American envoy Steve Witkev and reject any fundamental amendments, noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to release all prisoners in Gaza without stopping the war.
The newspaper also quoted a senior Israeli official that negotiations are now not a theatrical show and the decision to agree or war must be taken.
The Walla News website, quoting an American official familiar with the details of the negotiations, stated that progress has been made in the Doha negotiations that deal with ways to reach a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire in Gaza, but we may need several days until we know if the deal is possible.
For his part, the Israeli news website “Walla” quoted sources that Hamas agreed to a discussion that allows each party to present its position on the prisoner deal and the ceasefire.
In a related context, sources told Al -Jazeera that the Israeli delegation in Doha is not authorized by sufficient powers to decide on the outstanding issues regarding a deal.
Necessary negotiations
The Israeli channel “Kan” also reported that Hamas and Israel agreed to hold negotiations without mutual conditions, in an attempt to make any progress in the troubled talks.
In conjunction with this, Axios reported that the Israeli negotiating team recommended that Netanyahu proceed with the negotiations, noting that there is an opportunity to reach an agreement.
In the same context, Netanyahu is holding consultations with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz on negotiations and the possibility of expanding the fighting in Gaza.
Yesterday, Saturday, the families of the prisoners called on Netanyahu and the Israeli negotiating delegation in Doha to end the war and return the prisoners.
The families of the prisoners said, at a press conference that Netanyahu is fighting the war for political considerations, and leads the Israelis to an eternal war, and to establish settlements in Gaza; She explained that he serves an extremist minority, warning that the continuation of the war will kill the rest of the prisoners.
The families of the prisoners stressed that the return of prisoners, and the end of the war, is an Israeli interest.
Meanwhile, thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv in solidarity with the families of the prisoners detained in Gaza and to demand the cessation of the war.
The demonstrators demand the Israeli government to stop the war and conclude a deal that will restore the prisoners, and they confirm that the continuation of the war will kill the rest of the prisoners.
Supporters of the Israeli government have beat a number of protesters opposed to it, during a protest in the city of Rahouovot, south of Tel Aviv, in support of the families of Israeli prisoners.
Videos of young men on the demonstrators showed beating, insults, and extracting the Israeli flag from their hands before they left the site. This has sparked angry reactions among the opposition, which held the Netanyahu government responsible for such practices.
For his part, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said that the Netanyahu government is not qualified and unable to resolve and should be dropped. Barack considered in a speech in front of thousands of demonstrators in solidarity with the families of Israeli prisoners in Tel Aviv, that the way to achieve this is to declare civil disobedience.
Rubio’s comments
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told CBS News that he discussed in contact with Netanyahu the situation in Gaza and the joint efforts to release the prisoners.
Rubio expressed his hope that he would hear good news soon about Gaza and believed that some obstacles are still in place, noting that Washington has not stopped seeking a peaceful solution in Gaza that protects Israel’s security and ends Hamas rule.
Rubio stressed that the United States’ efforts are continuing to end the conflict in Gaza and never stopped, stressing that the presidential envoy to the Middle East is working on the Gaza file permanently.
He pointed out that his country did not neglect the side damage in Gaza when Israel bombed a hospital recently, and if it finds the possibility of ending the war in a way that the residents of Gaza can walk on the path of peace, it will discuss this.
The American minister stressed that Gaza cannot be blessed with peace and prosperity as long as Hamas rules it with weapons, and he saw that the Gaza war could end immediately if Hamas surrenders and handed its weapons and released all the prisoners.
Rubio pointed out that Washington is doing everything in its power and by all means to end the conflict in Gaza in a way that ends Hamas, noting that after the elimination of Hamas, Washington is seeking to start working on the future of Gaza and ensuring the security of Israel.
The American minister expected that Israel will continue its military operations in the Gaza Strip in the absence of an agreement.
Hamas position
On the other hand, the leader of Hamas, Taher Al -Nono, said that the partial deals stage ended and we agreed to the current round of negotiations without preconditions.
Al -Nuno added that Hamas dealt seriously and goodwill with the American administration in order to pressure to introduce humanitarian aid to our people, considering that the position of the American administration not to pressure to enter the aid is reprehensible and unacceptable.
He emphasized that Hamas is not regretful of the release of the prisoner Idan and proved to the world that it is not the disrupted party to the agreement.
Reuters also quoted Nuno as confirming that indirect negotiations with the Israeli side in Doha discuss all issues from “without preconditions”, noting a new round of indirect talks with the Israeli delegation on the ceasefire that started yesterday in Doha. Al -Nono stressed that the two sides are discussing all issues without “preconditions.”
For his part, the leader of the Hamas movement, Mahmoud Mardawi, said that the negotiations are taking place extensively in Doha, stressing that the movement’s demands have not changed, foremost of which is the endowment of the aggression, the withdrawal of the Israeli army and the reconstruction.
Israel appreciates the presence of 58 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, including 20 neighborhoods, and the occupation army has threatened during the past four days of the pair of its bombing, in conjunction with the negotiating delegation to Doha and Trump’s visit to the region.
In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel ended on January 19, with Egyptian -American mediation and American support. Netanyahu dismissed the start of the second phase of the agreement and resumed the genocide in the Strip on March 18.
With an American support, Israel has committed, since October 7, 2023, genocide crimes in Gaza, which left about 173,000 martyrs and wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
