An Israeli reserve officer was killed in battles in southern Gaza News

The Israeli army announced on Saturday that an officer in its ranks was killed during battles with the Palestinian resistance in the southern Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of its deaths since October 7 to 665.

The army said, in a statement, that the dead officer was Gross Malkiah, a 25-year-old member of the Armored Corps, who was killed in a battle in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli army data, this brings the number of soldiers killed in the ranks of the occupation army since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023 to 665, including 313 killed during the ground battles that began on the 27th of the same month.

Data also indicate that 3,894 officers and soldiers were injured since the beginning of the war, including 1,977 in ground battles.

On May 6, the Israeli army announced the start of a military operation in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, ignoring international warnings about its repercussions on the lives of the displaced people in the city. The next day, it took control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with absolute American support, leaving more than 123,000 Palestinians dead or injured, putting Tel Aviv into international isolation and causing it to be prosecuted before the International Court of Justice.

Israel continues its aggression despite two UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the Rafah invasion, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the miserable humanitarian situation in Gaza.
