The Israeli occupation army announced – today, Sunday – that an officer was killed and 3 soldiers were seriously injured during the battles in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian resistance factions fought fierce battles with the occupation forces and carried out complex operations to confront the Israeli incursion.
The Israeli army revealed that an officer with the rank of reserve major was killed from his wounds in the battles in the northern Gaza Strip last June, and that another officer and two soldiers were seriously injured during today’s battles in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, the occupation army said that it deployed more forces around the Gaza Strip on the eve of the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army announced that its forces were encircling the Jabalia area after an assessment that Hamas was rebuilding its capabilities there after months of fighting and air strikes.
Counter the resistance
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Hamas movement – said that its fighters were waging fierce battles with the occupation forces in the areas of the incursion into the northern Gaza Strip, and detonated a booby-trapped house in an Israeli force of 10 soldiers, leaving them dead and wounded west of the Jabalia camp.
The Brigades added that they detonated a high-explosive explosive device in a “Zionist” Merkava 4 tank, with a number of soldiers around it, east of the Jabalia camp, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam also said that it detonated ground charges in an Israeli troop carrier and two D-9 bulldozers in the northwestern areas of Gaza City.
The Phalange added that it targeted an Israeli force with an anti-personnel missile while it was trying to transport the dead and wounded soldiers.
For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that its fighters – in conjunction with the Al-Qassam Brigades – sniped an Israeli soldier east of the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Al-Quds Brigades added that they bombed Ashkelon and the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip with a missile barrage.
Al-Saraya explained that its fighters targeted, with two TPG shells, a command and control room belonging to the Israeli army penetrating the Jabalia camp.
For its part, the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said that its fighters are waging fierce battles, accompanied by Palestinian resistance factions, with Israeli forces in the areas of the incursion into the northern Gaza Strip.
