Maariv newspaper said that the Israeli army is currently complaining of a shortage of 300 officers in the positions of the leaders of the ground forces, in light of the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper pointed out that the lack of officers is concentrated in the engineering weapon, which suffers from a severe shortage of faction leaders, engineering and dismantling teams.

The Israeli newspaper pointed out that the army acknowledged the difficulty of persuading the soldiers who described it as efficient to join the officers’ course.

This is not the first time that the Israeli media has talked about a shortage of the army forces, while continuing the war on Gaza, and its forces were subjected to attacks from the Palestinian resistance fighters in the various axes of incursions into the Strip.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted the Israeli army earlier that it had a shortage of about 10,000 soldiers due to the continuation of the war on the Gaza Strip and the ineffectiveness of the efforts to recruit hard -line Jews (Haridim).

The newspaper said that the Israeli army began an amendment that obliges the soldiers to stay after the end of their regular service due to the lack of number, and indicated that the military order imposes on the regular soldiers to serve in the army an additional 4 months.

He also pushed the occupation army in earlier times with soldiers who did not complete their training in Gaza to participate in its war on Gaza, due to the lack of numbers in its ranks, according to Israeli media.

In the past months, the army talked about a shortage of regular soldiers due to the lack of recruitment of Haridim, and the reluctance of between 30% and 40% of the reserve soldiers for service for reasons, including exhaustion from the length of the war, according to an Israeli media.

The occupation army is accused of concealing its real losses in Gaza, despite its approval from time to time, with the killing and injury of officers and soldiers, as part of its devastating war on the Strip.

Resistance operations against the occupation forces escalated in the axes of incursion, as 39 soldiers and officers in Gaza were killed – according to the Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” – since Israel resumed the war on Gaza on March 18, after its damage from the January 2025 for a ceasefire.

Recently, Israeli media devoted space to the escalation of the killing of soldiers in Gaza in the confrontations or by suicide due to the pressure of war on them, while the government is trying to pass the recruitment law, which exempt tens of thousands of Haridim from military service.
