An Israeli newspaper reveals details of an American post-war document in Gaza News

The Times of Israel said that it obtained an American document related to Washington’s post-war vision in the Gaza Strip.

She stated that the document clarifies the principles that the United States plans to advance in light of securing a ceasefire in Gaza, including the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

According to the newspaper, the document includes 10 principles:

  • Calling on the international community to support the reconstruction of Gaza, while opening crossings into the Strip to ensure the unhindered flow of aid.
  • He rejected the continued rule of “terrorist groups” in Gaza, and “all terrorist organizations and armed groups must disarm and renounce violence.”
  • A complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza without any reduction in its territory, military occupation or forced displacement of Palestinians, who will be allowed to return to the population centers in the Strip from which they fled during the war.
  • Reunification of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank under the umbrella of the Palestinian Authority, which will receive assistance from international partners during a post-war transition period until it is ready to fully resume governance in the Strip.
  • Calling for the resumption of final status negotiations between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization on the basis that “a permanent end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an end to the occupation can only be achieved through direct negotiations.”
  • Supporting the establishment of an “independent, geographically contiguous and viable” Palestinian state based on the lines of June 4, 1967.
  • The possibility of normalization between Saudi Arabia, other Arab countries, and Israel while making tangible progress towards a two-state solution represents a promising path to achieving peace, security, and regional integration that will benefit everyone.
  • Rejecting unilateral actions by both sides, “including the expansion of settlements and outposts and the glorification of terrorism and violence.”
  • Calling for adherence to the commitments reached during the Aqaba and Sharm El-Sheikh summits last year, which also refused to move forward with unilateral measures. The US document also urges maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount.
  • A call to the Palestinian Authority to implement far-reaching reforms “focusing on good governance, transparency, combating corruption, and reforming education and social welfare.”
