An Israeli journalist reveals new details of the landing of the Qassams in Rafah News

The military correspondent for the Israeli Occupation Army Radio, Doron Kadosh, revealed that fighters from the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – who infiltrated the separation wall area in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, used a tunnel that the Israeli army discovered 10 years ago.

The military correspondent said, in a series of tweets on his account on the website

Kadosh added that the Israeli army has not approached the tunnel or sought to destroy it since the beginning of the war on Gaza, even though it has been operating during the past eight months in the “buffer zone” between the Gaza Strip and Israel, which is hundreds of meters away from it.

He pointed out that security officials strongly criticized the Gaza Division, and said that this was an incident that could have been prevented, whether through early treatment of the tunnel known since 2014, or also by taking care to close the openings in the fence.

Kadosh quoted the Israeli army spokesman as saying that the incident was being investigated, and no direct reference to the details was given.

Drop off behind the lines

Yesterday, Thursday, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the implementation of a breach of the fence separating Israel, and confirmed the killing of 5 occupation soldiers in another operation in Rafah.

Al-Qassam stated – in a brief statement – “In a landing operation behind the lines, Al-Qassam mujahideen were able to penetrate the fleeting fence and attack the headquarters of the enemy division operating in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.”

This came after the occupation forces admitted earlier Thursday that a soldier had been killed and a number of soldiers were injured in Palestinian resistance operations in Rafah.

In another operation, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the killing of 5 Israeli soldiers after blowing up a tunnel opening west of Rafah.

These developments coincided with the occupation army radio confirming that the army had reduced its forces in the city of Rafah, and that the “Bisalmach” brigade had left Rafah, while 5 brigades remained in the city.

Since May 6, the Israeli army has been launching a ground attack on Rafah. This forced more than a million Palestinians to flee in catastrophic conditions.
