The Israeli Air Force conducted an investigation into the failure to confront the attack launched by the Palestinian resistance on the occupation bases and settlements in the Gaza envelope, on October 7, 2023.
More than 14 months after the attack, the security services and political institutions are still blaming and exchanging accusations over the failure to confront the Al-Aqsa flood operation.
According to Israeli figures, the October 7, 2023 attack led to the killing of 1,200 Israeli soldiers and settlers, and the taking of 250 of them prisoners to the Gaza Strip.
A new Israeli Air Force investigation confirmed the failure of the occupation army to confront the attack.
According to the newspaper “Israel Today”, the investigation stated, “We failed to protect the settlers on October 7.”
The attack led to the evacuation of the Gaza Strip settlements for months, as they were considered no longer safe areas.
The Air Force investigation explained that “fighter aircraft were ineffective in the first hours of the Palestinian attack.” He added that the pilots had to work independently without guidance from headquarters.
According to previous investigations, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades struck military command centers in the Gaza envelope settlements, and were able to disrupt military communications networks.
The Israeli Air Force investigation said that the pilots communicated with each other using personal phones, in violation of protocol.
The investigation revealed that “the pre-set alert times were ineffective.”
Previous Israeli reports said that the Israeli Air Force bombed gatherings of settlers and deliberately killed them, to prevent the Palestinian resistance from taking them captive to the Gaza Strip.
