An American “rebuke” to Israel over the number of civilian casualties in Gaza News

Israeli Channel 13 reported that senior officials in the administration of US President Joe Biden rebuked Israeli officials due to the continuing high number of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip.

The channel said that the US administration informed the Israelis that their statistics indicate that about 150 civilians are still being killed daily in Gaza.

She pointed out that the Americans also informed Israel that the number of civilian casualties, which they described as “uninvolved,” is still high despite the supposed transition to a less intense fighting phase.

In a related context, White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said that the number of civilian casualties in Gaza is very high, and stressed that the US administration continues to urge the Israelis to be “more careful and less harmful,” as he put it.

The American official added that Gaza will remain after the war and will not be reoccupied again, indicating that the two-state solution is not only in the interest of the Palestinian people but also in the interest of the Israeli people and the region.

During the past few days, American media reports indicated that American pressure was being exerted on Tel Aviv to move to a phase of less intense combat operations, which was reflected in a reduction in the high number of civilian casualties.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which to date has left 24,620 martyrs and 61,830 injured, and caused the displacement of more than 85% (about 1.9 million people) of the Strip’s population.
