The Israeli army arrested 35 Palestinians, including a woman and former prisoners in the occupied West Bank, last night, bringing the number of prisoners to more than 10,900, since October 7.
This came in a joint statement by the Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs (governmental) and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (civil society).
The statement said, “Since yesterday evening (Tuesday) until Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces have arrested at least 35 citizens from the West Bank, including a woman and former prisoners.”
He added that the arrests were “accompanied by attacks on homes and threats to the families of the detainees.”
Regarding the total number of detainees in the West Bank since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, the statement indicated that “more than 10,900 citizens from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, have been arrested,” noting that this number “does not include detainees from the Gaza Strip.”
In parallel with its war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, the Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank, while settlers escalated their attacks, leading to the killing of 717 Palestinians and the injury of about 5,750, according to official Palestinian institutions.
With full American support, Israel is waging a devastating war on Gaza, leaving more than 137,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
