American writer: Biden is a disastrous and incompetent president who has plunged the world into chaos policy

An American writer specializing in the biography of US President Joe Biden says that Biden’s policy on the Palestinian issue is confusing and incomprehensible, and he is the only American president who did not set red lines before Israel, regardless of their size.

This was stated in an interview conducted by the American website “Mondoweiss” with Branko Marcetic, the biographer of US President Joe Biden and the author of the book “Yesterday’s Man: The Case Against Joe Biden,” during which he talked about Biden’s foreign policy in Palestine, Iran, Ukraine, and Afghanistan.

Marcetic stated to the website specializing in the Palestinian issue that people often say that all previous American presidents are similar when it comes to Palestine, and that they were all setting some very basic red lines before Israel, with the exception of Biden, who did not do so.

Very confusing

He explained that he finds Biden’s policy towards Israel after the Al-Aqsa flood very confusing. Where the ugliness of what the whole world is watching, and the ongoing daily mass killing, indicating that he sees that Biden is addressing the issue of categorical support for Israel as a purely political issue that will help him win the elections, and not out of a true belief in Israel.

He added that what he has been watching since last year as Biden effectively shreds his re-election chances and destroys any legacy he might want to claim as president is baffling. Biden has only supported everything Israel does.

Marcetic continued to say that he could not find a good explanation for why Biden did this, but he believed that a lot of it had to do with White House work that the public was not aware of, adding that he received little information that Biden was not given the full picture of what was happening in Palestine.

Not up to the level of the position

He also said that he had received a lot of information about Biden’s weakness, and about the fact that he is not up to the level of the job that he is doing, adding that all of these things suggest to him that there are likely a lot of things that we do not know about what is happening in the inner workings of the House. White and what actually shapes Biden’s thinking, “Who knows, maybe in a year or two or five, we’ll find out why that is, but it’s really weird.”

Marcetic expressed his belief that the strong position that Biden took on Afghanistan, that is, withdrawing from there, something that neither Barack Obama nor Donald Trump dared to do – a position that surprised many observers of Biden with its courage – made him believe that the “tough policy” was what would win him over. He leaned politically as president. Therefore, he became strict in his policy towards Ukraine and Gaza, and did not pay attention to diplomacy in either case.

He commented on Biden’s approach to Ukraine and Gaza, saying that his policy in both cases dashed his hopes of achieving a legacy he was proud of, and that his policy towards Gaza in particular ended up being the biggest responsibility of his entire presidency.

Most disastrous

He returned to say that, although Biden has increasingly focused on foreign policy as a major component of his legacy, he believes that Biden’s foreign policy was the most disastrous part of his entire term.

Regarding Biden’s policy towards Iran, Marcetic said that it appears that Biden has essentially abandoned diplomacy with Tehran, as Obama used to do, to do what Trump was doing, such as isolating it regionally and strengthening relations with its neighbors. Biden has continued to try to push for normalization deals between Israel and Iran’s neighbors.

Marcetic described the current situation in the Middle East as very bad, as Iran is likely to enter the war with Hezbollah, Israel and the United States, or create the appropriate conditions for a US-Iranian war under Trump if he wins.

Regarding the Biden administration’s non-stop supply of weapons to Israel during the Gaza war, despite opinion polls saying that Democratic voters want to condition aid to Israel and even support an arms embargo on the country, Marcetic said that the old truism in American politics says that foreign policy in the United States is completely separate from Any kind of democratic process, or any kind of democratic accountability.

The influence of money

He added that he understands that the Biden administration’s continued supply of weapons to Israel finds its explanation in money, noting that when Biden wanted to withhold the two thousand and 500 pound bombs from Israel as a kind of warning against the Rafah invasion, he sent Haim Saban, a major donor to the Democratic Party, He immediately sent an email to the White House in which he said, “I am a one-issue man and my only issue is Israel.”

Shortly thereafter, Biden maintained the ban on 2,000-pound bombs, but allowed 500-pound bombs to resume, and since then, there have been absolutely no restrictions on any weapons from the United States to Israel.

“This tells you who the Democratic Party is listening to and who the Biden administration is listening to,” Marcetic added. It is clear that disengaged voters have had an impact as well, but it is also clear that this administration and the party remain more concerned about the anger of donors than the anger of anti-war Muslim, Arab-American, and Jewish voters.

He expressed his belief that moral clarity around the genocide in Gaza and Biden’s facilitation of it will, similar to Vietnam, become clearer in the coming years and decades.

He added that Biden will end up as a disastrous, incompetent president who has plunged the world into chaos and caused profound and lasting damage to the country and its claim to global leadership.
