American teacher Marc Fogel released by Moscow

Marc Fogel had been detained in Russia for three years. The American had been arrested by the Russian authorities for cannabis detention.

The American Marc Fogel, owned by Moscow since 2021, was released on Tuesday.

This 63 -year -old history teacher from Pennsylvania left Russia alongside Steve Witkoff, special envoy of President Donald Trump.

Received at the White House, he thanked Donald Trump and his team. The American president published a video of their meeting on the social network X.

Marc Fogel was sentenced by a court in Moscow to fourteen years in prison in June 2022 for importing the cannabis which would have been prescribed by a doctor. He had been appointed by the administration of President Joe Biden as a detainee wrongly in December.

Donald Trump said he had good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Last month, the American president said he had conversations “Very serious” With Russia about war.

Donald Trump said that another American would be released on Wednesday, but he refused to give the person’s name or specify the country, just saying that it was someone “Very special”.
