Today, Saturday, the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced that the “American-British coalition” launched two raids on Hajjah Governorate, northwest of Yemen.
The Houthi Al-Masirah satellite channel said, in urgent news, “An American-British aggression targeted the Buhais area in the Midi District in Hajjah Governorate with two raids.”
The channel did not address other details about the results of the bombing or what specifically targeted it, while there was no immediate comment on this from Washington or London.
Most of Hajjah Governorate is under the control of the Houthis, and the sea port of Midi is located there.
The targeting of Hajjah Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthis, comes in light of the group’s recent escalation of its attacks on Israel and ships heading there with ballistic missiles and drones, which was met with a similar escalation in attacks on Yemen by Israel, the United States, and Britain.
The Houthi group announced – earlier on Saturday – that its forces targeted the Nevatim air base in the Negev region in southern Israel with a hypersonic ballistic missile that “successfully achieved its goal,” while the Israeli army claimed to intercept this missile outside the country’s airspace.
This is the sixth missile attack of its kind by the Houthis on Israel in less than two weeks.
Raid on Sanaa
The Houthi group also announced another US-British raid on the capital, Sanaa, on Friday evening, without mentioning its results.
In solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to an Israeli aggression with American support since October 7, 2023, the Houthis use missiles and drones to target Israeli or related cargo ships in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, and carry out attacks with missiles and drones on Israel, including operations that targeted Tel Aviv.
Since the beginning of 2024, a US-led coalition has launched raids that it says target Houthi sites in various regions of Yemen, in response to its naval attacks, which was met with a response from the group from time to time.
With the intervention of Washington and London last January, the Houthis announced that they now consider all American and British ships among their military targets.
