The US military said that US Central Command forces carried out air strikes on Saturday against a Houthi anti-ship missile that was ready to be launched to target the Gulf of Aden.

The Houthis target, with missiles and drones, cargo ships in the Red Sea that are owned or operated by Israeli companies or that transport goods to and from Israel, in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023.
Tensions in the Red Sea have entered a phase of remarkable escalation since, on January 9, the Houthis directly targeted an American ship, after they were targeting cargo ships owned or operated by Israeli companies, or transporting goods to and from Israel.
