The Algerian national football team will travel to Uganda today, Friday, to participate in the African Nations Cup scheduled for August 3 and August in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
The lottery fell Algeria in the third group with Uganda, South Africa, Guinea and Niger.
The team, which concluded its camp at the National Center in Sidi Moussa on Thursday, begins its career on August 4 against Uganda, followed by South Africa’s confrontation on August 8.
Guinea will meet on August 15 before concluding the first round against Niger on August 18.
The Algerian national team is seeking to equal the level it presented in two previous versions of the tournament after it reached the semi -finals in 2011 and the final in 2023 to achieve the continental title that is absent from its treasures so far.
Algeria is led by the national coach, Majeed Bouqra, who has great experience as a former international player.
Bouqra defended during his career in the stadiums for the colors of several French and English clubs, then joined the Scottish Club of Glasgu Rangers between 2008 and 2011, before moving to Qatar to experience an experience with the Lekhwiya club and then the Emirati Fujairah Club before returning again to Europe to play in Greece.
Bougara took over the training of the Algerian national team in 2021 and was crowned with the Arab Cup in Qatar, then led him to the African Nations Final for locals in Algeria.
