The team of the opponent of Vladimir Putin, who died on Friday February 16 in detention, announced this Wednesday February 28 that his funeral will take place at the end of the week in the Russian capital.
Moscow wanted his funeral to take place on the sly, this will not be the case. Russian opponent Alexeï Navalny, who died in detention on February 16 at the age of 47, will be buried in Moscow this Friday. The burial will take place at 4:00 p.m. local time, almost 20 kilometers from the red walls of the Kremlin.
After several requests from Alexeï Navalny’s family, the latter’s body was finally handed over to his mother on February 24. The day before, the opponent’s team had claimed that the Russian authorities had threatened not to return his remains if they were not buried with the greatest discretion.
