“Alarm bell”… With this phrase and others, the audience on social media platforms interacted with a video clip published by the far-right “Temple Mount Activists” organization in Israel, which simulates a major fire in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The clip, which was published by the organization on its account on the X platform, shows the Dome of the Rock inside the walls of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a large fire surrounding it. The organization accompanied the video with the phrase “absolute victory,” and then republished the video a second time and commented on it with the phrase “soon in these days.”

The clip spread on Palestinian and Arab social media platforms, sparking anger and shock among virtual world users.

One of them wrote, wondering, what is the Islamic world waiting for to move to protect the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque before the disaster occurs? And when will Muslims be convinced that these people are really serious in their plans to destroy the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and take complete control of it and turn it into a temple?

One blogger wrote, “Are you scared? Shocked? You thought it was breaking news that you didn’t follow and a trend that you didn’t talk about? But this publication is for the purpose of measuring the reaction of the Islamic and Arab street.”

Others added that this video revealed an Israeli organization’s intentions towards the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and what they are planning for the coming days.

One of them described the video as a dangerous precedent, and said, “In my opinion, nothing prevents them from doing this. Whoever is not moved by the harsh scenes in Gaza and the massacres being committed there, will not be moved by the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Activists said, “Perhaps the Jerusalemite has no choice but to go to the furthest extent to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, whatever the outcome. Protecting the mosque requires firmness and strength to ensure deterring those he described as ‘crazy’, otherwise we will truly lose Al-Aqsa.” He concluded his blog post by asking, “What kind of life is this without Al-Aqsa Mosque?”

With the uproar on Palestinian and Arab social media platforms, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs interacted with the event and said in a statement published on its Facebook account, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warns against the consequences of extremist Jewish organizations committing a major crime against Al-Aqsa.”

The ministry indicated in its statement that this is not the first time that the so-called “Temple Mount Organizations” Union has incited against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the image of the alleged temple in place of the Dome of the Rock is constantly promoted.

The statement added that the ministry views this ongoing incitement with great seriousness, especially since it is accompanied by the escalation in the storming of the mosque by Jewish extremists and the performance of Talmudic prayers and religious rituals in its courtyards in an unprecedented manner, especially the epic prostration, blowing the trumpet, various forms of dance, raising the Israeli flag, and others.

The far-right Israeli organization calls for “establishing the Temple in place of Al-Aqsa Mosque” and actively calls for extremists to storm the mosque’s courtyards.

On 21 August 1969, an Australian extremist named Dennis Michael Rohan stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Bab al-Ghawanmeh and set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Al-Qibli prayer hall. This came as part of a series of measures taken by the Israeli occupation since 1948 with the aim of obliterating the Islamic cultural identity of the city of Jerusalem.
