Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi said today, Wednesday, that his country “has made great efforts since 2007 to avoid escalation, realizing that the Palestinian people will pay the price in any confrontation,” considering the current destruction in the Gaza Strip “unprecedented.”

Al -Sisi added, during an inspection visit to the Egyptian Military Academy today, “The Egyptian state continues to work to stop the war, communicate humanitarian aid, and cooperate to release the hostages and prisoners, despite the distortion and misinformation campaigns that target Egypt’s pivotal role.”

Yesterday, Sisi said that his country did not close the Rafah crossing in front of the aid to the Gaza Strip, noting that the crossing was destroyed 4 times during the Israeli war on the Strip and that Egypt has restored it.

Al -Sisi described – during a press conference in Cairo, with his Vietnamese counterpart Long Coong, to talk about Egypt’s participation in the siege of the Gaza Strip as “bankruptcy” and “strange words”.

He explained that there are more than 5 thousand trucks aid in Egyptian lands ready to enter Gaza, but “the Israeli side controls and stationed on the other side of the Palestinian side at the Rafah crossing,” as he put it.

He added that “Egypt did not give up its role in introducing humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, or participating in the blockade of the Strip.”

The starvation of the Palestinians in Gaza as a result of the Israeli blockade and the US -backed annihilation war reached unprecedented levels recently, according to local and international reports, as deaths increased due to malnutrition and drought, and the total number reached 188 martyrs, including 94 children, according to the Ministry of Health in the sector.
