Al -Jazeera correspondent in Libya stated that the “steadfast” convoy to break the siege on Gaza, which started earlier in Tunisian territory, arrived in the city of Zawiya, its first station inside the Libyan territories, amid support from the people of the city.
This convoy will later move towards the capital, Tripoli, and from there to the city of Misurata, to start its journey to eastern Libya, reaching the “Esif” border crossing between Libya and Egypt, then to Cairo, then the Rafah crossing on the 15th of this month.
This convoy includes approximately 20 buses and about 350 cars carrying about 1500 solidarity from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Libya.
The convoy organizers confirm that it does not carry aid or donations, but its goal is to participate in the global movement to break the siege on Gaza.
The wild convoy -which is organized by the coordination of joint work for Palestine -was launched on Monday morning from Mohamed V Street in the center of the capital, Tunis, in a popular move to break the siege imposed on Gaza.
This caravan comes in a tragic humanitarian context imposed by the suffocating blockade on the Gaza Strip, and in the context of the Israeli genocide against the people of the Strip, in the wake of the “Al -Aqsa Flood” operation launched by the Palestinian resistance factions, foremost of which is Hamas, on October 7, 2023.
