Fierce battles took place between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation forces in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and Al-Maghazi camp in the center of the Strip, on the 89th day of the war, while the Israeli army announced the killing of one of its officers and the injury of 25 soldiers within 24 hours.

For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the implementation of a series of operations against the invading forces since Wednesday morning, including targeting soldiers, tanks and bulldozers.

Al-Qassam said that in a joint operation with the Mujahideen Brigades, it was able to launch a surface-to-air missile towards an Israeli helicopter east of Khan Yunis.

Earlier, Al-Qassam also announced that it and the Mujahideen Brigades were able to shoot down a Hermes 900 reconnaissance plane with an anti-aircraft missile east of Gaza City.

In another operation, Al-Qassam fighters took control of an Israeli drone during a mission south of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, according to what the Brigades announced via Telegram.

It also reported that its fighters were able to detonate two anti-personnel devices in an Israeli foot force consisting of 7 soldiers east of Khuza’a in the southern Gaza Strip, leaving them dead and wounded.

Al-Qassam fighters also targeted 3 Israeli tanks and 3 bulldozers, one of them a D-9, east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, in the Sheikh Ajlin area in Gaza City, and east of the city of Khan Yunis.

Al-Qassam fighters and the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, also targeted a gathering of Israeli vehicles with mortar shells east of the Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj neighborhoods.

Sniping two soldiers

The Al-Quds Brigades said that its fighters were able to snipe two Israeli soldiers in the axis north of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, and confirmed the killing of one of them and the injury of the other. The brigades also engaged in clashes with machine guns with soldiers and occupation vehicles in the axes of the northern Gaza Strip.

At the same time, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported the outbreak of clashes between the resistance and the occupation forces around the center of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, as the Israeli army continues to focus on the southern axes, coinciding with the withdrawal of some of its forces from the northern Gaza Strip.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that an engineering officer was killed and 25 soldiers were injured during the battles taking place in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.

This brings the number of deaths among the Israeli army to 3 since the beginning of the new year, and to 509 officers and soldiers since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, including 181 since the start of the ground attack on Gaza on October 27 last.
