The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast scenes of a sniper attack on an Israeli soldier in the Netzarim axis, south of the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City.
The scenes showed the Qassam sniper monitoring the Israeli soldier on one of the rooftops of the area’s houses, before targeting him after he appeared on one of the basement balconies and fell to the ground.
The Qassam footage also included scenes of “evacuating the dead soldier in a military ambulance.”
Earlier today, Sunday, the Al-Qassam Brigades said in a post on the Telegram platform, “Al-Qassam Mujahideen were able to snipe a Zionist soldier on Street 10, south of Tal Al-Hawa, in Gaza City, and they confirmed that he was directly wounded.”
The Qassam Brigades’ sniper weapons were strongly present in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip thanks to the locally made Al-Ghoul Qassam rifle, which was given this name after its developer, the martyr Adnan Al-Ghoul, and has a deadly range of up to two thousand metres.
It is not known precisely how many sniping operations have been carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades since the beginning of the current war, but on February 22, it revealed that its fighters carried out “57 sniping missions, including 34 with the Qassam Ghoul rifle, and led to the killing of dozens of occupation soldiers.”
