The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday a new death toll for the victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip for 97 days, at a time when the resistance factions inflicted more losses on the invading occupation forces.
Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said in a press conference at Tal Al-Sultan Hospital in Rafah, “The Israeli occupation committed 10 massacres during the past 24 hours, resulting in 112 martyrs and 194 wounded.”
Al-Qudra added that the toll of the Israeli aggression rose to 23,469 martyrs and more than 59,600 injured. He pointed out that 6,200 of the wounded urgently need to leave the Gaza Strip to receive treatment.
In turn, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that 23 martyrs were killed as a result of the continued Israeli raids and bombing on the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip since dawn today. He pointed out that 8 of the martyrs in Khan Yunis were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted a civilian car in the Al-Manara neighborhood. An Israeli raid also targeted the vicinity of Nasser Hospital in the city.
For its part, the government media office in Gaza announced that the number of journalist martyrs had risen to 117 since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on the seventh of last October. The office also announced that the occupation had destroyed 380 mosques and 3 churches, some of which were more than a thousand years old.
Resistance operations
In the context of military operations in the Gaza Strip, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced that its fighters, in conjunction with the Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – were able to target an enemy command room with heavy-caliber mortar shells east of the city of Khan. Al-Qassam explained that its fighters were able to target an Israeli foot force stationed in a house, killing and wounding its members.
Al-Qassam also announced the targeting of 8 Israeli vehicles, including two Merkava tanks, a bulldozer, and a troop carrier, and the destruction of one of them, in areas east of Khan Yunis and east of the Nuseirat camp.
Also in Khan Yunis, Al-Qassam fighters were able to target an Israeli special force holed up in a building, with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell, and clashed with it with machine guns, killing and wounding its members.
The Al-Quds Brigades announced the bombing of a gathering of occupation soldiers with mortar shells in the vicinity of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis.
The brigades said, “its fighters targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a Tandom shell, in the Jabalia al-Balad area, north of the Gaza Strip.” They also took control of an Israeli Skylark drone in Jabalia.
For his part, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said that army forces in the cities of Al-Maghazi and Khan Yunis killed 18 militants during their military operations in the region.
The military spokesman confirmed that 300 tunnel openings were found in Khan Yunis, and that dozens of tunnels were also destroyed.
