On Thursday, the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – broadcast scenes of one of its fighters sniping an Israeli soldier in northern Gaza City, a day after Al-Qassam announced the sniping operation.
The footage included careful monitoring of two Israeli soldiers who were on the roof of a house in the “Al-Tawam” area, north of Gaza City.
After that, the Qassami sniper fired his bullet at one of the occupation soldiers, hitting him directly, causing him to fall to the ground.
The Qassam Brigades’ sniper weapons were strongly present in the Israeli war on Gaza thanks to the locally made Al-Ghoul Qassam rifle, which was given this name after its developer, the martyr Adnan Al-Ghoul, and has a deadly range of up to two thousand metres.
It is not known precisely how many sniping operations have been carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades since the beginning of the current war, but on February 22, it revealed that its fighters had carried out “57 sniping missions, including 34 with the Al-Ghoul Qassam rifle, and led to the killing of dozens of occupation soldiers.”
Since then, Al-Qassam has announced dozens of sniper operations targeting occupation soldiers in various fighting areas in the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and vehicles in various combat axes, since the start of the Israeli ground operation on October 27, 2023, and many details of the operations carried out against the occupation forces appeared during the video clips.
Al-Qassam also carried out successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of military vehicles.
