On Sunday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast scenes of its fighters carrying out a complex ambush against Israeli occupation soldiers and vehicles in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Al-Qassam said that the operation took place in the vicinity of Burj Awad Junction in the Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah, on November 22.

She added that the combined operation came as revenge for the bloodshed of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, and called it the operation “The First Victory for the Blood of Sinwar.”

Al-Sanwar – who is described as the commander of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle – was martyred during a clash with the occupation forces in the Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah, in mid-October.

The ambush included several stages, starting with sniper operations targeting Israeli soldiers who came from the Salah al-Din axis (Philadelphia axis), then hitting the occupation vehicles and rescue forces with anti-armor shells.

According to the scenes, Al-Qassam fighters targeted a “Merkava” tank and a “D9” military bulldozer with two “Al-Yassin 105” shells.

The footage also included the targeting of a residential building inside which at least 7 Israeli soldiers were holed up with an anti-personnel missile.

At the end of the video, Al-Qassam pledged to broadcast a second complex ambush in a series of operations it carried out against the occupation forces in Rafah.

On November 22, Al-Qassam announced a complex operation that began after monitoring the sniper operation of 4 Israeli soldiers with the “Ghoul” rifle, noting that two soldiers were confirmed killed.

Al-Qassam explained in its statement that a “Merkava” tank – which came to the rescue of the soldiers – was targeted with an “Al-Yassin 105” anti-armor missile, confirming that it caught fire.

Al-Qassam also targeted a military bulldozer that advanced to remove the burning tank with an anti-armor shell, while a helicopter landed to evacuate the dead and wounded, according to the Phalange’s statement.

The Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and vehicles on various fronts of combat since the start of the Israeli ground operation on October 27, and many details of the operations carried out against the occupation forces appeared in the video clips.

It also carried out successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of military vehicles.
