The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Thursday that at least 10 Israeli officers and soldiers were killed in the battles of Shujaiya in the Gaza Strip.
The Brigades said – in its statement – that after its fighters returned from the battle lines in the Shujaiya neighborhood, they reported that they had targeted an Israeli foot force on Hassanein Street with highly explosive explosive devices.
It also announced the targeting of two Israeli Merkava tanks with Yassin 105 shells in the Shuja’iya neighborhood, and 4 tanks and 4 personnel carriers in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, with Yassin 105 anti-armor shells, in addition to targeting an infantry force barricaded inside a building in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood with a TPG shell. In the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, Al-Qassam fighters targeted an Israeli tank with a Yassin shell.
For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, said that it was engaged in fierce clashes with the occupation in the areas of progress in Al-Zaytoun and Al-Shuja’iya in the east of Gaza and Sheikh Radwan in its west, and added that it bombed the Sufa site and the Israeli military crowds in its vicinity with missile bursts.
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that sirens were sounding in Nirim and Ein Hashlosha in the southern Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, the Israeli army announced the killing of an armored officer in battles in the southern Gaza Strip, the day after it admitted yesterday, Wednesday, that 10 of its officers and soldiers had been killed in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
So far, the Israeli army has acknowledged the killing of 116 and the wounding of 600 of its members since the start of the ground incursion into the Gaza Strip late last October, following the Palestinian resistance’s launch of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
