The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said that it was able to ensnare an occupation engineering force in a tight ambush west of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam indicated that its fighters monitored the arrival of a tank, a troop carrier, and two D-9 bulldozers loaded with cubes of highly destructive explosive materials to the ambush site.
Al-Qassam fighters targeted the first bulldozer with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell and the second bulldozer with a “Shawaz” device, which led to the explosion of the vehicles and explosive cubes in the advanced convoy, destroying it and leaving the crews of the Israeli vehicles dead and wounded.
This comes at a time when the Israeli army announced that 123 soldiers were injured on the Lebanon and Gaza fronts since the evening of the day before yesterday, Saturday, including 18 soldiers who were injured on the Gaza front, bringing the number of injured since the beginning of the war in Gaza and Lebanon in October 2023 to 5,018 soldiers.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of the commander of the 401st Brigade, Colonel Ihsan Daqsa, and the serious wounding of another officer in battles in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Army Radio said that Colonel Daqsa was accompanied by 3 other officers in two tanks inside Jabalia in the battle zone, adding that he and the officers left the tanks 20 meters away, and while they were moving, an explosive device was detonated on them.
The radio continued that the incident in which Colonel Daqsa was killed and 3 officers were injured, including the deputy commander of the 162nd Division and the commander of the 52nd Battalion, noting that Colonel Daqsa was among 4 colonels killed since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip.
Qassam operations
The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced – yesterday, Sunday – that its fighters sniped and directly wounded two Israeli soldiers in the Jabalia camp, north of Gaza.
