The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Monday that it had ambushed an Israeli force in Beit Lahia, while an Israeli newspaper said that the army was seeking to level the Jabalia camp to the ground and complete the plan to displace Palestinians from the northern Gaza Strip.
The Brigades said – in a statement via the Telegram application – that its fighters clashed with machine guns and grenades with an Israeli force consisting of 10 soldiers in a house near the Taiba Mosque in the center of Beit Lahia, leaving them dead and wounded.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced that it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with an anti-tank missile, “Al-Yassin 105,” on the same street.
The Beit Lahia ambush comes after a series of operations carried out by Al-Qassam in the past few days in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of Israeli soldiers.
In other field developments, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that 4 Palestinians were martyred and several others were injured this morning as a result of Israeli bombing that targeted the Musabah area, north of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

In the center of the Gaza Strip, Palestinians were injured as a result of intense artillery shelling targeting the new Nuseirat camp, and an Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent indicated that an Israeli drone opened fire on homes in the new camp.
Nuseirat camp and areas to the north were also subjected to raids and artillery shelling, according to Palestinian sources.
In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army carried out air strikes and artillery shelling on areas including Jabalia and Beit Lahia, according to what Palestinian media reported.
Eyewitnesses said that the occupation forces blew up homes in the areas of Al-Saftawi, the west of the Jabalia camp, and some areas of Beit Lahia.
Since the fifth of last October, the Israeli army has launched a large military operation in the northern Gaza Strip, and the operation has so far resulted in the martyrdom of more than 2,300 Palestinians and the displacement of others towards Gaza City in the south.

Displacement plan
Meanwhile, Haaretz newspaper quoted senior Israeli officials as saying that the Israeli army is asking residents of the northern areas of the Gaza Strip to evacuate their homes, despite the Israeli army’s denial of implementing the generals’ plan in the northern Gaza Strip.
The newspaper said that the Israeli army is systematically leveling the remaining buildings in the Jabalia camp.
She added that the Jabalia camp area is no longer suitable for habitation.
Haaretz noted that recent satellite images show the extent of the widespread destruction caused by Israeli ground operations and aerial bombardment in the Jabalia camp.
Tel Aviv Tribune had obtained photos showing the effects of widespread destruction in the camp.
The Israeli aggression in the northern Gaza Strip primarily targets the Jabalia and Ben Lahia camp, where the Palestinian resistance confronts the invading forces.
