Occupied Jerusalem- Al-Maqdisi Saleh Al-Dweik (Abu Kamel) worked as a guard at Al-Aqsa Mosque for 20 years, before he retired and devoted himself to worship and worship there.
Al-Dweik begins his day in the mosque with the noon prayer and ends it with the Witr prayer after dinner, praising God a lot and reading the Qur’an between every two prayers.
Dweik’s workplace ranged from the Dome of the Rock, the Al-Qibli prayer hall, and the doors of the mosque, but his experience at the door of the Dome of the Rock was interspersed with harsh and difficult moments.
Regarding those moments in 2013, he says that the occupation forces tried to storm the Al-Qubba prayer hall, and the Israeli police officer asked him to evacuate those inside it, and his response was, “You are not responsible for me and I do not receive my orders from you.” After a discussion, the officer instructed his soldiers, and they hit me with 3 bombs, leaving burns on my left side and my face. She was subsequently transferred to Al-Makassed Hospital.”
The guard, who has been retired since 2016, believes that working in Al-Aqsa Mosque is a bond, in addition to being a task that he must perform, hoping that the bond and his reward in the mosque will be written to him.
The Al-Aqsa guard calls on the Palestinians of Jerusalem and the 1948 territories to travel to the mosque and rebuild it, “If we abandon Al-Aqsa, there will be someone to take our place.”
