Al Jazeera condemns the Israeli army’s assassination of the father of colleague Anas Al-Sharif News

Tel Aviv Tribune Media Network condemned the Israeli occupation army’s targeting of the home of Tel Aviv Tribune journalist colleague Anas Al Sharif, in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, which led to the martyrdom of his father.

The network extends its sincere condolences and great sympathy to colleague Anas and his family, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take urgent measures to stop the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation army against journalists and innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The network added in a statement that this targeting comes after “a series of threats that Al-Sharif has received since last November in an attempt to discourage him from performing his work, and as part of a series of deliberate targeting of the families of the network’s correspondents and those working with it in the sector to pressure them with the aim of concealing the truth and concealing the crimes committed by the occupation army.” .

Tel Aviv Tribune confirmed that it will take appropriate legal measures before the competent authorities to hold those responsible for this crime accountable.

Our colleague Anas Al-Sharif said – in contact with Tel Aviv Tribune – that the occupation aircraft targeted the house where his father Jamal (65 years old) lived in the Jabalia camp, which led to his immediate martyrdom.

He added that he was unable to reach the house after the bombing as a result of the continuous Israeli bombing.

He added that he had to bury his father in the yard of a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), where displaced people reside.

Regarding the reason for targeting his family’s home, the Palestinian journalist said that the occupation did not want the picture to be published. Anas pledged to continue covering the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Last Wednesday, the parents of Al-Jazeera colleague Moamen Al-Sharafi, as well as a number of his brothers and their children, were martyred in the Israeli occupation’s bombing of Jabalia camp.

Before that, 19 people from the family of Al-Jazeera colleague Muhammad Abu Al-Qumsan were martyred, including his father and two of his sisters, in a massacre also in Jabalia camp.

A number of family members of our colleague, Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh – including his wife, son and daughter – were also martyred in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house to which they were displaced in the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Strip.
