Al-Falahi: The West Bank’s resistance capabilities are limited because it is besieged by the occupation and the Authority | News

Military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Al-Falahi, believes that the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank does not have the capabilities that its counterpart in the Gaza Strip has, but it confronts the Israeli occupation army, sets up ambushes for it, and engages in direct confrontations with it.

He said that the resistance fighters in the West Bank use simple weapons such as planting roadside bombs, stressing that talk about over-the-shoulder missiles requires a scrutiny process, because if the information is issued by the Israeli army, the goal behind it is to justify its use of destructive force as it did in the Gaza Strip.

Colonel Al-Falahi pointed out – in an analysis of the military scene in Gaza – that the resistance in the West Bank is being subjected to restrictions and constant surveillance by the Israeli occupation army and the Palestinian National Authority forces.

Because of the security checkpoints and checkpoints, it is difficult for the resistance factions in the West Bank to have the same weapons as their counterparts in the Gaza Strip.

He spoke about 3 areas: “A”, “B” and “C”, all of which are surrounded by many Israeli settlements, meaning that they are completely under Israeli control.

Regarding the ongoing military operation in the West Bank, Colonel Al-Falahi explained that 3 brigades of the Israeli army are carrying out the operation, which began with small forces, but expanded during the past hours.

He pointed out that the Israeli military action in the West Bank is limited to specific areas and targets, unlike what is happening in the Gaza Strip, and that the withdrawal of the occupation army from areas in the West Bank means that there are specific places that are targeted.

The occupation army is focusing its military operation on the city of Jenin and its camp, where clashes are taking place between the resistance factions and the occupation forces.

From the point of view of the military and strategic expert, what is happening in the West Bank is a deterrent military campaign, because the occupation army is focusing on specific targets, search operations, arrests of Palestinian citizens, and the destruction of homes and infrastructure, stressing that the occupation’s use of air power, such as drones, aims to reach targets that the advancing forces did not reach.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli army continues for the fourth consecutive day a large-scale military operation in the northern West Bank, which it says aims to dismantle resistance cells in Jenin, Tulkarm and Nablus. It has so far resulted in the martyrdom of 20 Palestinians and the arrest of others.

According to Colonel Al-Falahi, the military operations carried out by the occupation army in the past in the Jenin camp and other areas did not lead to ending the resistance in these areas.
