Military and strategic expert Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi confirmed that the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – is still capable of carrying out painful operations against the occupation, despite the difficult circumstances and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
In his analysis of the operation carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades east of the Jabalia camp, Al-Falahi explained – during the military analysis section – that this ambush reflects “defensive arrangements made in this region before the ground invasion began.”
He pointed out that the operation was “arranged and prepared” in advance, which indicates the presence of “preparations made by the resistance factions, in addition to a stage of planning.”
Al-Falahi added that the ambush included “a mixture of ambushes,” including “ambushes against tanks, ambushes against people, and ambushes against vehicles,” and pointed to the use of a variety of weapons and tactics, including “detonating a stun device,” a “thunder device,” and using “ Tandom shells to confront tanks.
Regarding the Qassam’s ability to set up an ambush in an area controlled by the occupation forces, Al-Falahi explained that “the nature of the geographical area and the factions’ knowledge of this area enable the resistance fighters to set up such ambushes.”
He added that guerrilla tactics give the resistance “a very great possibility and ability to move in these places.”
Regarding the recent operations in Rafah, Al-Falahi stressed that these operations refute the occupation’s claims that the resistance brigades in this region have been “dismantled.”
He pointed to the escalation of military operations in Rafah, including “the destruction of a tunnel mouth,” “the destruction of two tanks,” and “the detonation of a thunderbolt.”
Al-Falahi stressed the resistance’s ability to adapt and maneuver in difficult circumstances, as he pointed out that operations are moving from “the eastern region to the western region” despite the difficulty of reaching these areas, pointing out that there is “the possibility of movement and there is the possibility of such ambushes being set up” even in Open and agricultural areas.
