Al-Duwairi: The obsession with October 7 still haunts the Israelis Programs

In his comment on what was reported by Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent – regarding the sound of sirens in several towns around the Gaza Strip, the military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the obsession of October 7 still haunts the Israelis, and that surprises still exist.

The occupation army spoke of monitoring the launch of a suspicious air object from the Gaza Strip and its landing in the cover areas. While the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that the sirens sounded as a warning of a march infiltration for the first time since last November.

Al-Duwairi pointed out – in an analysis of the military scene in Gaza – that the Palestinian resistance still has unknown capabilities, citing the ground infiltration of resistance fighters two weeks ago or the attempt by divers to infiltrate at sea towards the Zikim area several months ago.

The Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced the implementation of a breach of the fence separating Israel, and confirmed the killing of 5 occupation soldiers in an operation in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that the Palestinian resistance in the besieged Gaza Strip launched the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation against Israel at dawn on Saturday, October 7, 2023, and included a land, sea and air attack and the infiltration of the resistance into several settlements around the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the statements of Colonel in the occupation army, Yair Zuckerman, in which he said that the army faces great challenges to defeat Hamas fighters in Rafah, Al-Duwairi said that this statement reflects half the truth and reality, because it talks about the possibility of defeat.

The strategic expert said that the statements of the Israeli colonel – who is the commander of the Nahal Brigade in the occupation army – confirm that the Palestinian resistance factions are managing their defensive battle, especially in Rafah, which he said bears the burden of 50% of the total combat operations in the Strip.

This statement also indicates the conflicting statements of Israeli officials at the political and military levels, as Al-Duwairi explained that they spoke yesterday about the imminent end of the military operations in Rafah, but today they speak, through Zuckerman, with the utmost clarity, about how they are unable to achieve even half of the goals.

Al-Duwairi concluded that the Israeli army’s statements do not reflect reality, and are always incomplete, especially regarding losses.

Zuckerman stated – during an interview with the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post in Rafah, where he is directing the Israeli invasion of the city – that the Hamas movement is planting many cameras in Rafah to manage the battle from above and below the ground.

Colonel Zuckerman also said that there are tunnels in almost all the houses in the city of Rafah, and that the progress of his forces is slow and the battles are exhausting.
