Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that the fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), are still at the peak of readiness and are performing their mission as they have been since the beginning of the ground battle almost a year ago.
Al-Duwairi’s speech came after Al-Jazeera broadcast exclusive scenes from the battles between the Al-Qassam Brigades and the occupation army in the Al-Tanour neighborhood, east of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Duwairi explained to Al-Jazeera that the scenes of the Qassams and the hitting of Israeli vehicles with “Al-Yassin 105” missiles came 362 days after the start of the Israeli war and more than 5 months after entering Rafah.
The military expert described the current period in the Gaza Strip after the redeployment of the occupation forces and the sending of military teams to the northern front as “the most difficult and worst for the Palestinian resistance.”
Al-Duwairi attributed the reasons for this to “the occupation committing massacres with fire from a distance and outside the range of the resistance’s weapons,” and described what is currently happening as a “losing battle.”
Palestinian medical sources announced that the number of martyrs of the massacres committed by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip within 24 hours had risen to 89 martyrs.
The military expert said, “The resistance’s hands are tied because its current capabilities allow it to fight from a distance of zero,” and he expected that Al-Qassam will broadcast new videos “if it has the opportunity to fight a battle from a close distance that does not exceed 100 meters.”
He concluded that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has been on the run since last October, as he fled from Gaza City to the central camps, then to Khan Yunis, all the way to Rafah.”
