The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, described the Palestinian resistance’s bombing of the Ashdod area with a barrage of missiles from its strategic stock, as a politically and militarily smart message, stressing that it is a challenge to reality after 100 days of war and not outside the circle of expectation.
During his analysis for Tel Aviv Tribune, Al-Duwairi confirmed that the bombing proves the effectiveness of the resistance and the cohesion of its staff, stressing that it knows “when, how and where to strike missiles,” also citing the effectiveness of the resistance in the battles in the center and south.
The bombing was also considered a political message to the War Council and the Cabinet and those behind them, such as Washington and Berlin, in addition to being an explicit military message refuting Tel Aviv’s claims of eliminating the capabilities of the resistance, killing thousands of resistance members, and taking operational control of the northern Gaza Strip.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced “the bombing of occupied Ashdod with an M75 Maqadmeh rocket barrage in response to the Zionist massacres against civilians.”
In this context, Al-Duwairi explained that these missiles fall within the strategic stockpile, and target occupied Jerusalem, Ben Gurion Airport, and Greater Tel Aviv.
The military expert also considered that attacking Ashdod and not Tel Aviv was a smart move also due to the presence of demonstrations in the latter demanding an end to the war and the return of the prisoners in Gaza, pointing out that any bombing of the area means its dispersal and the dispersal of this mass gathering.
Regarding what Tel Aviv Tribune reported from a leadership source in Al-Qassam, that the missile attack on Ashdod was launched from places where the occupation forces were present, Al-Duwairi explained that the decision to bomb in these cases comes from high levels of the resistance because it carries political and military implications, and clearly confirms that the system of command and control and controlling its rhythm is still Active.
