The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the scenes of the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – confronting the occupation army in the Gaza Strip represent nightly nightmares for the occupation leaders.
Al-Duwairi explained – during his military analysis for Tel Aviv Tribune – that the scenes of resistance will be studied in military institutes and are real nightmares for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy.
He pointed out that the occupation army – which is ranked 18th in the world in terms of strength, and fourth in terms of technological progress – failed to liberate any prisoner in Gaza during the 80 days of war, stressing that the Qassam Brigades have the upper hand in the field, “and the Israeli army must not submit.” To impose conditions.
He pointed out that Al-Qassam destroyed “the myth of the invincible army, wasted its dignity, and entered a stage of retreat and admission of defeat,” indicating that what the occupation army is doing in Gaza is “a kind of hatred and love of revenge,” such as destroying schools and hospitals, and its goals will not be achieved.
Al-Duwairi went further when he called on Al-Qassam to redraw the armistice line before the 1949 coexistence agreement. The area of the Gaza Strip was 556 square kilometers, not 365 square kilometers, as all the cover settlements were located on Gaza land.
Hardness and retreat
The military expert praised Al-Qassam’s adoption of a reverse engineering approach based on simulating and manufacturing available weapons, which prompted the occupation army to retreat – under the weight of resistance strikes – from most populated areas and position itself in agricultural areas, which means that it suffers confusion and clear failure.
Regarding the implications of the dismissal of a company commander by the commander of the 51st Battalion in the Golani Brigade due to his exposing a group of soldiers to danger in the Shujaiya neighborhood, Al-Duwairi explained that dismissals do not occur during wars except when serious mistakes are committed that lead to painful results and heavy human losses.
He added that what is happening is a microcosm of the general situation and the disagreement in the war council between Netanyahu and the rest of its staff, as well as with the military side, especially since the former places personal and partisan interests “above the country’s interest during the war.”
He stressed that the resistance in Gaza is working steadily and cohesively and is providing an outstanding performance “as if it had not suffered losses.” He expected the compass to also change to the south after two weeks as it changed to the north, before confirming that the occupation would disappear, just as former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon withdrew from the Strip in 2005.
