About a million Palestinians – including more than 600,000 children – face the risk of death as a result of the depletion of hospital and infant formula fuel and the lack of necessary vaccinations, due to the blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
After the North Hospitals, the Gaza Governorate hospitals are also about to get out of service due to the depletion of the quantities of fuel that the occupation allowed to enter, according to a spokesman for the Al -Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Dr. Khalil Al -Dakran.
The occupation policy threatens to hand over the lives of hundreds of thousands of chronic and dangerous diseases, and pushes the hospitals to operate the vital departments and stop working on outpatient clinics and the rest of the departments, according to Al -Dakran in an interview with Al -Jazeera.
At the same time, these hospitals are unable to receive hundreds of patients and injured who reach them daily in light of the depletion of all supplies and the lack of crews and medicines.
Hundreds of thousands of patients are in danger
Prevention of fuel also threatens the lives of 300,000 heart and kidney patients, and those who need intensive care and urgent surgeries, as all hospitals depend on fuel generators that mean that it means “a death sentence for the patients of these vital departments.”
More than 600,000 children have received the necessary vaccinations due to the siege, and more than 60,000 infants face the risk of death due to the absence of infant formula, according to Al -Duran.
Malnutrition in Gaza reached the fifth stage, which is the most dangerous in the World Health Organization classification, according to Al -Duran, who demanded the world to immediately intervene to force the occupation to introduce supplies.
Earlier today, the director of the Al -Shifa Medical Complex, Dr. Mohamed Abu Salmiya, confirmed that the General Hospital had stopped working, and said in an interview with Al -Jazeera that a few hours separate Al -Shifa and Al -Hilo hospital from stopping, due to the renewal of the fuel crisis, stressing that hundreds of patients and wounded are facing a real threat due to the closure of the remaining hospitals in the sector.
Deliberate extermination
The United Nations Response to the right to health, Teling Moveking, stressed that the behavior practiced by Israel and its allies in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories in general, represents a racist chapter and a systematic endeavor to erase the Palestinian people.
Movocking said, in an interview with Al -Jazeera, that the occupation forces operated systematically and under the protection of the United States and other allies, to destroy the health sector in Gaza, and to starve and exhaust people in a clear genocide.
Mofuking said that the world did not see this destruction that Israel practiced against the elements of life in Gaza, specifically the health sector, in any previous global conflict, stressing that the continuation of this behavior means that Tel Aviv has occurred from the United States and other countries not to punish.
In turn, the World Health Organization said that the health sector in Gaza “is suffering from a sharp depletion, as the hospital capacity has reached unprecedented levels due to the continuous Israeli bombing and preventing the entry of food, drink, medicines and fuel.”
The provision of basic health services -from the care of mothers and newborns to the treatment of chronic diseases -has become at great risk, due to the difficulty of access and combat actions near hospitals, the organization says.
