AI for good: Experts talk regulation, innovation and global access

In this Euronews debate co-produced with CGTN, a panel of international experts discussed the benefits, risks and potential regulatory challenges of AI.

The panel, comprising Yi Zeng from the Beijing Academy of Sciences, Dr Amr Awadallah from Vectara, Srikant Chakravarti from Curio AI and Rose Luckin from the UCL Knowledge Lab, discussed the role of AI in education, health and biodiversity analysis.

They highlighted the need for responsible development and global inclusion. Key topics covered include global regulatory challenges, the importance of open source AI for less developed countries, and the potential misuse of AI in warfare and disinformation.

The panel also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in underdeveloped regions and called for greater public understanding of AI to ensure its benefits are harnessed for the common good.
