Agreement or difference .. When does Eid al -Adha start 1446? | sciences

This year, the Arab world witnessed a clear difference at the date of Eid Al -Fitr, as countries, such as Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sudan, Lebanon and Palestine, announced that the beginning of the month of Shawwal, and accordingly the first day of Eid Al -Fitr on Sunday 30 March.

On the other hand, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya completed the month of Ramadan 30 days, and accordingly, Eid al -Fitr was on Monday 31 March.

This caused a debate in a number of countries in the Arab world, but a question spread in social media at the time of the timing of Eid al -Adha, especially as it relates to the ritual pilgrimage. Will the Arab world really differ in the timing of Eid al -Adha as it did on Eid al -Fitr?

On Earth, we can monitor the moon’s path, where its phases and location change in the sky at night (Stradstock)

One moon .. different reading

First of all, let’s get to know the moon’s cycle, which is the path that the moon takes around the sun every 28 days, and it has done it frequently for millions of years.

On Earth, we can monitor this path, as it appears in changing the phases of the moon and its location in the sky of the night, where the phases of the moon begin, and it can come out in any of the coming months to notice it, but if it decides during the next days for this day, the period that the moon spends in the sky after sunset will be calculated, you will notice that it increases day after day by about 50 minutes.

This happens because the moon revolves around the Earth, so it seems to us as if it is moving in the sky away from the sun day and day.

But what if we decide, in theory, for the purpose of understanding, to return time back day after day? Here the moon will approach the sun until it stands next to it in the sky.

This is called “the moment of conjugation”, and it is the first lunar month, we cannot see the moon in it, of course, but the jurists and astronomers use it to predict the beginning of the Hijri month.

If the moment of conjugation had occurred enough before the specialists left the legal bodies to monitor the crescent on the night of the vision on the 29th of the Hijri month, then this is likely to be able to monitor the crescent and announce the next day the first day of the Hijri month.

Arab countries are likely to agree this year on the surprise of Dhu al -Hijjah (Al -Jazeera)

An agreement on Dhu al -Qi’dah

Now let’s divide the countries above two teams to facilitate understanding, and let the first team be the one who started its feast on Sunday, and the second is the one who started its feast on Monday.

At the end of the month of Shawwal, it was the moment of conjugation at 22:31 Mecca time on April 27, and this is the day of the vision for the first team, and as you notice, this means that the conjugation will happen at all after sunset, which confirms that it is not seen, and accordingly the first team countries announced the next day to the month of Shawwal, and the beginning of Dhu al -Qi’dah for her on April 29.

On the other hand, the second team countries went out to search for Al -Hilal on April 28 (because it was late one day from the first team), and here it will have passed since the birth of the crescent at sunset more than 20 hours, which is a very sufficient period for the crescent to move away from the sun and see easily, with two eyes merely.

This is what actually happened, as these countries did not take place, and the next day announced the beginning of the month of Dhu al -Qi’dah, which is corresponding to April 29.

A very possible agreement

Thus, the Arab countries agreed on the date of the surprise of Dhu al -Qi’dah, but the matter has not yet ended, so there is still a need to monitor the crescent of the month of Dhu al -Hijjah, which is determined by the date of Eid al -Adha.

In this case, it seems that reconciliation will be an ally of the Arab countries, as the moment of conjugation at the dawn of May 27, at 6:02 am Mecca time, leaves this a sufficient period for many Arab countries to see the crescent, not with the naked eye this time, but at least through the telescope, and accordingly the next day announces the surprise of Dhu al -Hijjah.

This is likely that the Arab countries agree this year on the surprise of Dhu al -Hijjah, which will be on May 28, and accordingly, Eid al -Adha begins on June 6.
