The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the northern Gaza Strip practically means entering the third phase of the war on Gaza, stressing that this does not mean not carrying out offensive operations.
Al-Duwairi explained – during his analysis to Al-Jazeera – that the occupation justifies its withdrawal north by saying that it has ended its operations there, and that it will focus on specific and focused operations, pointing out that the bombardment by warplanes, drones, artillery, and naval boats will continue.
He stressed that Israeli ground entry into Gaza is very likely, describing the future scene as limited operations limited in time and place.
He pointed out that the withdrawing forces took a combat position in the Gaza Strip, where they will enter the Strip to carry out operations, and the occupation will seek to exploit opportunities to achieve goals, while the resistance is pursuing a war of attrition by adopting the method of ambushes.
Regarding the increase in the number and types of ambushes, Al-Duwairi explained that the resistance carried out 3 different ambushes during the past 48 hours, including an ambush in an open area, another inside a house, and a third inside a tunnel.
As for the south, the military expert confirms that there is a change in the management of the battle for the occupation due to the size of the losses it incurred, and the absence of information due to the nature of the land, and it does not have a clear plan and vision and its operations vary from day to day.
He pointed out that the areas of Al-Qarara and Khuza’a, east of Khan Yunis, have turned into dangerous points from which resistance operations are launched, while the occupation forces have returned to the area because it has been exhausted over the past days, with the aim of rebuilding and rehabilitation.
He reiterated that the battle of the south differs in form and management from the battle of the north, due to the wide distances, the complex network of tunnels, and the presence of a joint operations room that includes all the resistance factions.
He stressed that the organizational structure of the Al-Qassam Brigades units – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – remains cohesive despite the bombing and destruction that occurred in the northern Gaza Strip, and that the tunnels are still effective and performing their role to the fullest, and they are the black box that the occupation is ignorant of.
