Israeli forces killed at least 95 people in Gaza on Monday with air raids that left 39 dead in a seaside cafe and shots that killed the Palestinians trying to desperately need food aid, witnesses and health officials.
An aerial raid struck the al-baqa coffee in Gaza City when he was crowded with women and children, Ali Abu Ateila said, who was inside at the time.
“Without warning, all of a sudden, a war plane struck the place, shaking it like an earthquake,” he said.
At least 39 people were killed and dozens were injured, many.
Among the dead was the journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, as well as the women and children who had gathered at the cafe.
Palestinian journalists union said that more than 220 journalists had been killed in Gaza since the war in October 2023.
Coffee, one of the few companies to continue to operate during the 20 -month war, was a gathering place for residents who are looking for internet access and a place to invoice their phones.
