Occupied Jerusalem- The President of Al-Quds University, Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, said that – as part of an agreement signed today, Monday – a chair for Moroccan studies will be established at Al-Quds University.

Abu Kishk added – speaking to Tel Aviv Tribune Net from Rabat – that “it was agreed between the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency and Mohammed V University to establish a chair for Moroccan studies at Al-Quds University, and the two sides will supervise the dissemination of culture and knowledge about Morocco and Moroccan society.”

He explained that the agreement is part of the university’s direction to have chairs in different universities and countries whose expenses are covered by these countries and universities, “to open a window through which we can see other societies.”

Abu Kishk referred to a previous agreement with the same authorities to establish a doctoral program in law, and another agreement on the subject of digital media because the Moroccan university has experience with this modern science.

The scientific or research chair is defined as a research or academic program at the university that aims to enrich human knowledge and develop thought on a topic. It is funded by an individual, company, state, institution, and sometimes legal persons, and includes a team of researchers and those skilled in a specific field.

The President of Al-Quds University pointed out that academic and student exchange agreements and linking researchers together through partnerships enhance the university’s position, in addition to being “one of the most important standards for global university classification.”

Today, the opening ceremony of the “Beit Al-Maqdis Center for Research and Studies” took place in the capital, Rabat, and on the sidelines, 3 agreements were signed, one of which concerns Al-Quds University, in the presence of personalities and officials from Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, arranged by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency.

According to the President of Al-Quds University, the participating Jerusalemite delegation briefed officials in Morocco on the conditions in the holy Palestinian city and the events it is experiencing on the one hand, and the endeavor to strengthen the relationship and ties between Moroccan and Jerusalem institutions on the other hand.
