Sana’a- The American and British strikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and on other governorates under the control of the Ansar Allah Houthi group, are causing more concern among popular circles, and raising fears of their economic repercussions and security risks to the lives of civilians, even though they have so far targeted military sites.

At dawn on Tuesday, American and British aircraft launched 18 air strikes, including 12 raids that targeted Sana’a, especially in its north, and targeted the Al-Dailami air base adjacent to Sana’a International Airport, in addition to bombing the Al-Sawad and Al-Hafa camps south of the capital.

According to the military spokesman for the Ansar Allah Houthi group, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, “the American-British aggression aircraft launched 12 raids on the capital, Sana’a, 3 raids on Al-Hudaydah Governorate, two raids on Taiz Governorate, and a raid on Al-Bayda Governorate,” and he stressed that “these attacks will not go unanswered.” “And punishment.”

The goal is to “weaken the Houthis”

US Central Command said that its forces and the forces of the United Kingdom, with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands, launched air strikes on 8 targets in areas controlled by what it called “Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen,” which are used to attack international commercial ships and US naval vessels. In the region.

The US Central Command stated – in a statement – that the strikes included missile systems, launchers, air defense systems, radar devices, and storage facilities, and indicated that “these strikes aim to weaken the Houthis’ ability to continue their reckless and illegal attacks on international commercial shipping lanes.” And American and British ships in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.”

On January 12, the United States and Britain carried out their first air strikes on Sanaa, and on the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Taiz, Hodeidah, and Dhamar. They also launched Tomahawk missiles from submarines and warships, and the number of raids reached 100 air and missile raids, targeting more than 60 targets. Military sites under Houthi control.

“Guardian of Destruction”

In his press statements about Tuesday’s strikes, the prominent leader of the Ansar Allah group, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, said, “We say to the American: You are not a guardian of prosperity, but rather a guardian of destruction, and the crimes you are committing in Yemen are in order for the killing and destruction to continue in Gaza.”

Al-Houthi added, “The Americans and the British were the ones who attacked our country, and we will continue to respond to the attacks, no matter how strong they are. In God, we are stronger, and we do not fear defeat.”

He stressed, saying, “Our goal is clear: to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, lift the siege, and deliver food and medicine to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, while the goal of America and Britain is to support the Zionist entity, destroy Gaza, and displace its population.”

The extent of the impact of the strikes

The head of the Abaad Center for Studies, Abdul Salam Muhammad, said, “The first phase of the American and British strikes was targeting platforms prepared for launch, such as ballistic and winged missiles and drones, but today the strikes have moved to targeting missile stores and drones.”

Regarding the Houthis’ assertion that “these strikes are ineffective, and they are bombing sites targeted by the Saudi-UAE coalition over the past years,” the researcher said, “They say that in order to downplay the importance of the strikes, but they are effective, and the strikes will continue continuously until they bear fruit and subjugate the Houthis.”

Abdul Salam Muhammad added in his speech to Tel Aviv Tribune Net that “the decision to stop the Houthi threats in the Red Sea was taken at the international level, and may extend for years, and it seems that the European Union’s decision to form a force to protect navigation that passes through Bab al-Mandab comes in this direction, and there may be a process Military forces to remove the Houthis from the coast of the Red Sea.

The researcher considered that “the Houthis’ confrontation with major international powers has placed them in the category of terrorist groups, which means that defeating them has become an international mission, more than it is a Yemeni or regional mission.”

The same researcher expected that the US-British strikes would move to the stage of “targeting the Houthi military leadership, causing more pain to the Ansar Allah Houthi group, subjugating them and forcing them to stop targeting navigation and ships in the Red Sea.”
