A video clip circulating of a Yemeni boy who is attacked and robbed of his goods from ice cream in the city of Mukalla, Hadramout, sparked a wide wave of anger among Yemenis on social media platforms, amid demands to hold the aggressors accountable and compensate the child.

The 13 -year -old Yahya Al -Kamil, who is from Ibb governorate, appears in the video, while he was assaulted by a group of people who robbed his goods from the ice cream he sells in the streets of the city of Mukalla, where he works as a roaming seller to help his family.

The real cause of this attack was not known, but the Hadramout Governorate police rushed to move and announced the arrest of two of those involved in assaulting the child, describing the incident as an unfortunate crime that did not relate to the Hadrami Society.

In their statement, the police stressed that the security services will not tolerate the pursuit of the general tranquility, whatever their backgrounds or motives, in a clear indication of their intention to hold all those involved in assaulting the child.

They only represent themselves

And the network of networks (5/2025/5/5) monitored an aspect of the Yemenis interactions with the incident, where Abdullah wrote: “This (these) is a denial and they only represent themselves as they distort the morals of Hadram and the kindness of their treatment with all societies.

Salem tweeted, “such people must be disciplined in front of people, and with a direct photography to be a lesson for others,” while Naguib stressed in his tweet: “In Hadramout, no one is oppressed, whatever his gender or type, Hadramout consciousness and humanity.”

While Muhammad wrote: “Do not forgive or compromise with the dawn and outlaws, Hadramout is peaceful and with all and besides all, Hadramout rejects racism and will not allow it at all, and the latest individual behavior does not belong to his family, his tribe or the Hadrami society in any link … and the judiciary is the Faisal.”

The reactions did not stop at the limits of electronic condemnation, but a group of activists in Hadramout Governorate moved in a practical way to reparate the child, Yahya and returned to him, as they honored him and gave him a financial prize and a certificate of appreciation in a solidarity initiative that received wide approval.
