A water crisis and the starvation, and the municipality of Gaza appeals to urgent intervention news

Warnings continued to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the suffocating siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces and preventing them from crossing humanitarian aid trucks.

The Government Information Office in Gaza said that the occupation continues the policy of siege and starvation against more than two million civilians living in catastrophic conditions.

The office added that the occupation continues to prevent the entry of aid trucks in a flagrant violation of the obligations it announced, and continued, “The occupation stopped the introduction of aid that it would be allowed since last Monday, without any legal or humanitarian justification, at a time when the Gaza Strip is witnessing a severe lack of food, medicine and fuel, and a severe deterioration in the health and living conditions.”

The Government Information Office called for an international action to pressure the occupation to open the crossings and ensure the flow of aid immediately.

Water crisis

In turn, the Gaza municipality appealed to international organizations to intervene urgently to address the large water crisis experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, due to the reduction of the quantities of fuel and the stopping of the water line that feeds the sector with drinking water.

The municipality warned of a major water crisis due to the continued reduction in the quantities of fuel that does not meet the operation of the municipal and private water wells, enough time to provide the minimum water.

She said that with the continued displacement from inside and outside Gaza City, high temperatures, increasing need for water and shrinking the quantities of fuel, all these factors may lead to a water crisis and the occurrence of thirst if the situation is not remedied.

For its part, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation intended to target electric generators exacerbates the catastrophic situation in the sector’s hospitals.

She explained that hospitals operate in limited quantities of fuel, which threatens to continue to provide emergency medical care to the wounded and patients.

The International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed that civilians In Gaza, they have been deprived since the beginning of last March of access to aid and health care.

The committee called for the basic needs of civilians in Gaza quickly and sustainable.

For its part, the World Health Organization warned that The health system in Gaza is collapsing due to the expansion of military operations and evacuation orders.

The organization confirmed that Al -Awda Hospital is threatened with closure, which is the last hospital working in the northern Gaza Strip.

Star aid

While the World Food Program confirmed that the introduction of temporary aid to Gaza is not enough at all to meet the urgent needs, an organization said Doctors Without Borders, the assistance that Israel has provided is aimed at avoiding accusing it of the starvation of Gaza residents

The organization added, “The amount of aid that Israel began to allow its entry into Gaza is just a curtain to pretend that the siege is over,” and stressed that “Israel’s plan aims to exploit aid and make it a tool to achieve its military goals.”

Since the second of last March, Israel continues a systematic starvation policy for about 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza, by closing the crossings in the face of assistance accumulated on the border, which introduced the sector to the stage of starvation and claimed the lives of many.

The accounts varied regarding the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in the past days, while Israel announced that it had allowed 93 trucks to enter, the United Nations said that 100 trucks had obtained permission to cross without confirming their arrival.

With American support, since October 7, 2023, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, which left more than 175,000 Palestinians between a martyr and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
