United Nations expert Francesca Albanese accused Israel on Tuesday of seeking to “eradicate the Palestinians” from their lands through “genocide.”
The expert appointed by the Human Rights Council, who is the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, said: “The genocide of the Palestinian people appears to be a means to an end: the complete expulsion or eradication of Palestinians from the land to which their identity is fundamentally linked and to which they covet.” “Israel openly and contrary to the law.”
She said, “The genocide in Gaza is a story of an expected tragedy, and it may extend to other Palestinians subject to Israeli authority,” considering that “the pursuit of the goal of Greater Israel threatens to erase the indigenous Palestinian population.”
The Italian human rights expert added, “The statements and actions of the Israeli leaders reflect an intention for genocide and a path to achieve it, and they have often cited the biblical story of Amalek to justify the extermination of Gazans by wiping out Gaza and displacing the Palestinians through violence, which makes the Palestinians as a whole legitimate targets.”
With broad American support, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 43,61 martyrs and 101,223 injured since the beginning of the war, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine. Fatal.
In disdain for the international community, Tel Aviv continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council’s decision to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
